Mullet
[edit]"The glistening of the mullet"? I thought that would have been West Auckland! ;) Grutness
Yeah I’ve been told otherwise that it is "The waters of the yellow eyed mullet" which I’ve updated but I’m a bit unsure as there seems multiple meanings on the net.. For instance quoted here: http://www.enterprisecoastnz.com/our_region/history/maori_legends/ - it is said to mean "Waters that stare wildly". But "wai" does mean water and "kanae" literally means mullet. AntiBodies
- According to maoridictionary.co.nz, 'kanae' is the grey mullet, Mugil cephalus.-gadfium 03:24, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
